Mosquitoes aren’t the only method that the Zika virus is spreading. Now, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention has confirmed that it was contracted from sexual intercourse in Dallas, Texas. This is the first known instance of transmission in this fashion.

The virus itself is one of the scariest to be seen in recent years, though it isn’t getting nearly as much attention as Ebola did last year. The risks involved with Zika are greater, though, because it’s spread isn’t as direct and can creep up on an unsuspecting nation such as those throughout North and South America.
