BMW simply asked “Why can’t the SUVs carry the M badge as well?” and the answer was they now do. These SUVs offer the most engaging style and driving elegance that can be had by anyone. Last year the Colorado came back and resurrected the mid-sized truck segment for Chevrolet and gave us a truck that we enjoy. This year the Colorado has been improved and is ready to take over the segment that had basically been left to rot with only the Tacoma and Frontier to compete with each other. With the Colorado and its GMC twin the Canyon back in action, GM is poised to regain its hold on this segment of trucks for the next several years.

2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350

When you see Shelby in the name of any Mustang you know it is built to be the fastest version of the car possible. This Shelby GT350 is not quite the performer the GT500 is, and understandably so, but makes a great replacement for the Boss 302 while having the Shelby name that brings the notoriety and reputation that only comes from the annals of Carrol Shelby. The adjustments made and performance improvements for this 2016 model will give you an amazing and iconic sports car to drive.

2015 Ford F-150

The new aluminum cab and bed of the F-150 give it a 700 pound reduction in weight to give it a huge advantage in both power and fuel efficiency. This has allowed Ford to install smaller engines to gain the same or better outputs as their previous truck models and continue to be the best-selling truck on the market. The new aluminum features of the F-150 have seen huge carryover as use in other models and manufacturers, but with the F-150 being the first truck to have them, the expectation is a continued or expanded lead in sales of this truck line.

2015 Hyundai Genesis

When you think of Hyundai you don’t normally think of luxury. Instead of having this thought, take a look at the Genesis which is full of awesome features and a luxury value and drive of a rear drive car. The power plants used are plenty powerful to easily handle the challenges this car can bring. With looks that could seriously kill other cars, the Genesis is a serious luxury car that is made by a company that puts a premium on filling their vehicles with fantastic features.

2018 Infiniti Q100

Just seeing the concept version is enough to get you excited and when searching for an awesome luxury sports car, the Q100 might be the best choice when it makes its debut in 2018. The expectation is it will have all-wheel drive to add the control and engaged driving along with the attractive shape that looks a bit like a wave of water coming in, the Q100 will be a car that should easily keep up with the sports coupe offerings from BMW and Mercedes-Benz.

2016 Jaguar XE

Jaguar has been known for long and large sedans that perform exceptionally and carry an aloof personality for many years. Add in the sports cars that bring in a “look at me” attitude the XE is meant to be a competitor of the BMW 3-Series. This will give Jaguar a new platform from which to compete with the rest of the luxury models in market today. The interest in seeing a new car that will be a complete change for Jaguar will give us a great car to fully enjoy.

2016 Mercedes-Benz GT AMG

A fully sport car from one of the premier names in the auto industry, the GT AMG will give us a drive that is fully appreciated from only behind the wheel. With a lighter weight and a more powerful motor, the Huracan will be nearly impossible for many others to beat at the track, which is exactly what Lamborghini wants.

2015 Lexus RC F

Whether you like the IS sedan doesn’t entirely matter, you will absolutely love this car. Built on the same platform but coming in the sport coupe version, the RC F is the most powerful Lexus ever. Most may not think a Lexus would be in a market to compete with a Camaro or the AMG models of Mercedes-Benz, but this Lexus is built for speed and shows up more than ready to take on these power players .

2018 Mazdaspeed 3

Even small sedans can become sports cars and the Mazdaspeed 3 is the Mazda 3 on steroids. This car is expected to take the Skyactiv technology a step farther and offer a huge amount of speed and power to compete with the VW GTI and Ford Focus ST. When the Mazdaspeed 3 comes out the mantra of Mazda may need to add a third “zoom” to it in order to even come close to describing the amazing speed and performance this car is expected to show .

2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata

The Miata has always been one of the most fun cars to drive. With a highly engaging suspension and steering as well as a powertrain that unleashes every bit of the beast inside this car has carried on as a fun and active ride. The only down side was the cartoon-like looks which have been taken away for this all newly designed Miata that shows up just next year for all to admire and continue to take pleasure in the ride.

2018 Nissan IDx

The IDx is expected to be a small but luxury-laden rear-drive car that can be considered a sports car or just a great looking coupe. This car will give a completely different design that is still a bit on the drawing board but is expected to make waves in the mid-sized luxury coupe market, helping Nissan bring its name upward toward the luxury models. By the 2018 year the design should be worked out and the look hopefully improved to look more fluid.

2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Built of now over fifty percent aluminum in the body, which gives the C-Class a weight loss, this once smallest offering from Mercedes-Benz is now the next up version that feels like a larger car than it actually is. This is a good thing because the size of the C-Class continues to give it a great performance on the road with the ability to easily handle any and all curves, twists and turns that a road can have. The C-Class shows itself as an enjoyable ride and certainly is a car that will make a positive choice as a daily driver or a weekend cruiser.

2017 Porsche Small Sedan

Using the same MLB architecture that is present on the Audi A4, this 2017 Porsche model with no name yet looks to be a Panamera that has four doors. What happens when Porsche enters the sedan market, all other luxury brands need to be scared to death. Surely the thought of this being a success will give the engineers at BMW and Mercedes-Benz fits and headaches as they try to keep up with this long time global leader in the sports car market that will now offer sedans to enjoy.

2015 Subaru WRX STI

If you want to build a rally car, this is the car to start with. If you just want a car that offers a huge amount of fun behind the wheel and can head off road in the dessert, this is also the car to choose. This version of the WRX is ultra-sporty and gives you some of the most engaging driving features you are likely to ever encounter on any road or off it. When this car shows up this year those who have been waiting will certainly flock to it as it is expected to be one of the most affordable performance laden vehicles on the market.

2018 Toyota Sports Car

The concept is name the FT-1 but it does already look a lot like a cross between a Ferrari and a Supra. This new sports car will be unveiled for 2018 and is expected to be able to fully compete with several super cars and easily handle most of the sports cars that are currently being built. The style and power aboard makes me hope this beauty will make it sooner than the 2018 model year, but that is only if it’s fast enough to reach up and time travel on its own.

If you are in the market for a new vehicle, you will be well served to take a look at this list before you decide what car to buy. With a long list of awesome vehicles to keep an eye on over the next few years you can see the benefit of showing some patience as we learn more about the vehicles coming out in the next couple years. On the other hand, if you are eyeing one of this year’s models, have a great time enjoying your new awesome ride.
